Ride Snowboards

DOE

Since its inception, Ride Snowboards has always tapped into a variety of artists to design board graphics—from professional painters, illustrators, photographers, and designers to tattoo artists, sculptors, comic-book illustrators, and students. Graphics are chosen based on the rider profile of each board, taking into account a rider’s style, gender, and the size and price of the board (that way Amy Winehouse doesn’t end up riding a board meant for Donald Trump, know what we mean?). Aesthetic detailing can range from matte/gloss varnishes and hand-painted details to three-dimensional badging, sandwiching items under the topsheet, and employing unique topsheet materials like denim or soft-touch rubber.

Each year we try to raise the bar of what’s deemed possible for board graphics by collaborating with fresh artists—even ones who some might consider unattainable because of things like style, medium, or an artist’s history outside the industry, their level of fame, or price.
